How to Read a New Word

Are you unsure of what to say when your novice reader hesitates on word?  This one page document gives you the prompts you need! Our goal is to keep the students eyes on the print. We don’t want them to look at the pictures or guess using the first sound. We encourage our students to use their knowledge of the sound spelling system to read through the whole word and now you can too!
